The Academy is a TVB modern drama series broadcast in June 2005. The series follows the lives of a group of new Hong Kong Police recruits as they proceed through training at the Hong Kong Police training school. Within these 27 weeks, each of them learned their lessons, each of them become more mature, each of them become a better person as the relationship between the trainees and the trainers grows stronger and stronger. A direct sequel, "On the First Beat" was produced and broadcast in 2007 continued with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan, alongside Joey Yung, Sonija Kwok and Michael Tao. Another sequel, "E.U." was produced and released in 2009 continued with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan, alongside Michael Miu, Kathy Chow, Elanne Kong, and Michael Tse. Michael Miu reprises a new role as a triad boss in E.U., which is unrelated to his role in The Academy.

The Condor Heroes 95 is a Hong Kong television series adapted from Louis Cha's novel The Return of the Condor Heroes. It was first broadcast on TVB Jade in Hong Kong in 1995. Many of the cast from The Legend of the Condor Heroes reprised their roles in this series, such as Lau Dan and Wayne Lai. In addition, Jason Pai reprised his breakthrough role as Kwok Ching, whom he previously portrayed in The Legend of the Condor Heroes and The Return of the Condor Heroes.
A Step into the Past is a 2001 Hong Kong television series produced by TVB and based on Huang Yi's novel of the same Chinese title. The series tells the story of a 21st-century Hong Kong VIPPU officer who travels back in time to the Warring States period of ancient China. He is involved in a number of important historical events that leads to the first unification of China under the Qin Dynasty. The series' first original broadcast ran from 15 October to 7 December 2001 on the TVB Jade network in Hong Kong.

The story takes place in Country A, where the male protagonist, Zhao Jian, leads his Black Wolf Squad to escort goods for General Chachai of Country A. The drama begins during China’s Reform and Opening Up era in the 1980s in Wenzhou, south China, an area renown for the emergence of many successful businesses. 1st Master Long and his sworn brother Fang Xiu Cai, work together to save their village people during a serious epidemic. They later discover that the cause of the disease is the vicious scheme of Madam Long and 2nd Master Long. The cruel pair later cause the death of 1st Master Long and frame Fang Xiu Cai for the epidemic, hence causing the death of the entire Fang family with Fang Xiu Cai's infant son being the sole survivor.
